BANGALORE

Leading India’s growth story

Bangalore is one of several Indian cities at the forefront of the country’s significant growth. The office leasing market is busy across all sectors, but particularly technology firms and data centre companies. This activity covers both big and small spaces, contributing to a vibrant market.

India has long seen strong business activity in cities like New Delhi and Mumbai, but increasingly it is Bangalore and Hyderabad among others that are seeing demand spike in everything from professional services and finance to technology and energy firms. This is reflected in overall costs.

While Indian markets sit near the bottom of the cost index, Bangalore is now more expensive than Mumbai, New Delhi and Pune, at ₹ 127,948 per m2. Demand isn’t just coming from firms investing inwardly in Bangalore, but also from the successful growth of many firms founded in the city that seek to expand and stay there.

Talent is mobile both within the country and abroad; one of the biggest fit-out drivers is amenities and hospitality that can compete with international locations to keep and attract people. This is the case both within cities and out in the larger campuses being constructed, particularly by multinational data centre and technology companies.
